The holy grail of audio is True Wireless (that is to say, no wire between the two earbuds), but with solid battery life and whole sound. Top-tier audio team Cleer thinks they’ve cracked that with their newest pair of audio devices, the Arc II Gaming and Arc 3 Gaming. When a company puts the word “Gamer” in their product name, we want to know what make it different. Let’s get that from the Cleer team themselves:
Arc 3 Gaming earbuds and case
We’ve checked out the Qualcomm and Snapdragon combination in other earbuds in the $300+ range before. The extra horsepower of the Qualcomm processor (these are likely the Snapdragon X Elite, the newest iteration of that device) brings with it a number of impressive capabilities.
The best part is that these are open-ear. We’ve tested out open-ear headphones before, but those were not True-Wireless, instead using a behind-the-head band to conceal the connection. Better still – if you’re the type that struggles with earbuds inside your ear, these might be for you.
The innovations don’t stop there, apparently – the touchscreen case that provides a recharge for these earbuds also have a UV light inside to sterilize them. I can’t say I’ve ever seen that.
Let’s take a look at what the team has to say about the Arc II Gaming.
Another open-ear earbud, these look like they are more focused on providing a grab-and-go earbud at a lower price point. There are a handful of differences to know – here’s a quick breakdown below:
Both of these devices feature noise reduction microphones, which should be great for chat while still being able to hear things around you. They also both feature a solid amount of battery life, hitting 10 hours for the Arc 3, and 8 hours for the Arc II.
One of the biggest differentiators (and you’ll want this if you’re using this for Nintendo Switch) is the low-latency USB dongle present on the Arc 3. Aimed at reducing audio latency (29ms by their measurements) to ensure clear sound for whichever platform you’re using.
If these piqued your interest, you can grab the Arc 3 Gaming in either black or white finishes for $234.99 on Amazon, or the Arc II Gaming in black or white for $189.99, also at Amazon.
