Sony and Kojima Productions have officially announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch for PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025. The announcement was made during a special panel hosted by Hideo Kojima at the SXSW conference, accompanied by a stunning new trailer.
Death Stranding 2 PS5: Early access and editions
Fans who pre-order the Collector’s Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition will get advanced access to the game, being able to play from June 24. The Collector’s Edition includes a 15-inch Magellan Man statue, a 3-inch Dollman figurine, art cards, and various in-game items. The Digital Deluxe Edition also offers early access and additional in-game items.
Death Stranding 2 PS5: Gameplay and features
The new trailer, which is 10 minutes long, showcases a mix of gameplay and in-game cinematics, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect. The trailer features various characters, including one that bears a striking resemblance to Snake from the Metal Gear franchise3. The game continues the story of the original Death Stranding, with Sam and his companions embarking on a new journey to save humanity from extinction.
