After little or no news for the past few years, here are five long-awaited Xbox Game Pass games we’re keen to hear more of in 2025.

The year ahead is looking busier than ever, but there are still5 missing Game Pass games we need to hear about in 2025. That line-up of upcoming Game Pass gamesis always changing, but on that list are several long-awaited Xbox games which we’ve heard next to nothing about for quite some time.Whether they’ve had a few years to bake since their first announcement, shown faint signs of life recently, or have just been so long-awaited that we’re trying to manifest some news for them this year, here are five Xbox Game Pass games we’re keen to see more of in 2025.

Ark 2

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PCDeveloper: Studio WildcardGenre: Sandbox survival gameWe’ll start this list with the long-awaited Ark 2. It was first announced over four years ago, and more recently saw a delay when its 2023 release window was pushed back to late 2024. It’s now early 2025, and we’ve since heard not a peep from this ambitious sequel.

Ark 2 challenges us to survive as Santiago (Vin Diesel) attempts to protect his daughter Meeka (Auli’i Cravalho) in a brutal world full of dinosaurs and other vicious beasties.

We’re hoping that Studio Wildcard has been regrouping and figuring out its Ark plans, and that 2024’s no-show means they’re gearing up for an announcement, trailer, or even re-reveal in 2025.

Clockwork Revolution

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PCDeveloper: inXile entertainmentGenre: Steampunk RPGinXile’s Clockwork Revolution, the studio’s AAA first-person steampunk action-RPG, is a newer title on this list. Its Bioshock-style trailer caught everybody’s eye when it was first announced. At the time, the devs mentioned that it was in early development, but since that announcement was almost two years ago, we’re hoping to see something more in 2025.

Clockwork Revolution sees you traveling into the past to witness the butterfly effect your choices have on the world of Avalon. It sounds incredibly ambitious, and already looked suitably impressive in that first trailer, so hopefully 2025 will bring us a new look at inXile’s upcoming project.

Everwild

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PCDeveloper: RareGenre: AdventureMaybe one day I will give up hope of an Everwild announcement, but it seems today is not that day. Rare’s magical adventure game remained a mystery ever since it was announced in 2019, aside from the odd trailer here or there.

Since then, I’ve been selecting Everwild left, right, and centre when it comes to predictions articles for major Xbox events, and losing out on that prediction every time. You’d think I’d learn my lesson — but wait, this time it’s not just me throwing my hopes into the void; Xbox boss Phil Spencer has confirmed Everwild is still in development after a recent visit to Rare. Perhaps 2025 will be the year we can all hear more about it too.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PCDeveloper: Team CherryGenre: Action-adventure metroidvaniaAnother one currently occupying the same void as Everwild is the long-awaited, highly-anticipated Hollow Knight sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong. It too was announced in 2019, and like Everwild, we haven’t heard much since, aside from confirmation that it was coming to Game Pass.

After that, we heard the news that the game was being delayed from its initial 2023 window since it was becoming a bigger project. Then, at last, we heard from Team Cherry again at the start of this year that the sequel is still on the way. Given that this confirmation came at the start of 2025, maybe we can hope to hear more about the game this year.

Nirvana Noir

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PCDeveloper: Feral Cat DenGenre: Noir adventure gameAnd then for something completely different: the vibrant colors and mind-melting time and space implications that make up Nirvana Noir.

This follow-up to Genesis Noir sees No Man facing the consequences of his decisions while trying to save two parallel realities: a black-and-white world known as Black Rapture, and the vibrant world of Constant Testament, both of which are under threat from the Bigger Bang.

Nirvana Noir is a standalone story with incredibly ambitious mix of detective elements, puzzles, exploration, music, and color. We haven’t seen much of this one since its announcement in 2023, and after a year or two without a release date, we’re hoping 2025 is the year to hear more about this intriguing adventure.

Those are five of our picks, but what about you? Are there any long-awaited Game Pass games you think we might see more of this year? Let us know in the comments, and if you’re looking for more wishful thinking, we’ve rounded up a list of five games which aren’t on Xbox or Game Pass but should be.
