Just Press Play’s warehouse sale gave gamers the chance to find that special game or console they’ve been searching for.

LANCASTER, Pa. — From Atari to Sega, retro games and consoles alike were making a comeback for certain gamers in Lancaster County this weekend.

“I had an [Atari] 2600 when I was a kid, so it’s like seeing all of this and everything is just fantastic,” said customer James Taylor.

Just Press Play became the choice of players for video games, consoles, movies, trading cards, vinyl records, toys and collectibles. Now the store is leveling up into a megastore.

“Going from a table at a flea market to where we are now has just been kind of mind-boggling. It’s really something special here,” said Tyler Brown of Just Press Play.

However, as the older generation gets to relive their nostalgic gaming moments, the younger generation is being persuaded by their parents and influencers to trade in the new for the old.

“I think it’s going to be great for the new generation of kids that are coming up,” expressed Taylor. “They’re going to experience the whole evolution themselves. For them to see that nostalgia of how we started gaming and then progressing through like we did is nice.”

On Saturday, hundreds of gamers got the chance to browse the store, traveling back in time for games and consoles they haven’t seen for sale in decades.

“It’s exciting. One of the coolest things about this job, and being a part of this industry, is that we get to reconnect people with their childhood memories of a nostalgia they’ve been looking for and introduce people to it who haven’t ever done something like this before,” said Brown

The sale will continue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Sunday, March 2, for video game fanatics looking to press rewind and enjoy the nostalgia.
