Lately, more and more people are showing interest in truly wireless open-ear headphones as they allow them to listen to music while hearing their environmental surroundings. Well, it looks like Samsung wants to cater to customers in the segment.

According to a popular tipster from China, Ice Universe, Samsung will launch wireless open-ear headphones alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 at the next Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025. Here’s what they feature.

These open-ear headphones are allegedly named ‘Able.’ According to the tipster, they transmit sound from around the ear using the bone conduction technology. Considering that, we assume that they sit around your ear. Unfortunately, that’s all the information Ice Universe has revealed, and there’s nothing else we know about it.

Currently, Samsung offers wireless earphones in two designs/form-factors, fully-sealed, in-ear, like the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and semi-sealed, like the Galaxy Buds 3. While the former goes deep into your ear and blocks a lot of noise from the surrounding area, the latter doesn’t go as deep into your ear canal and blocks as much noise.

Open-ear headphones are totally different. They sit outside your ear canal. As they don’t create a seal with your ear canal, they don’t block noise from your surroundings, keeping you aware of what’s going on around you. The bone conduction technology takes things even further by allowing brands to leave the ear canal fully open.

It is good to see that Samsung is analyzing the market, listening to its customers, and offering them solutions that they are looking for.
